OVERVIEW

Project Manager - Lead Researcher - Design Support

2 Week Sprint

THE CHALLENGE

We feel there is a lack of accessible and affordable tickets for concerts. Musicians and fans alike are frustrated because the demand for shows is often higher than the supply of tickets available. Resulting in fans having to purchase tickets from multiple places with varying degrees of success and certainty.

How might we provide fans with a way to successfully purchase tickets for shows and give artists the opportunity to meet the demands of their fans, all in one platform?

THE OPPORTUNITY

After doing research, we decided that Songkick would be a well-suited business to address propose our product to. Music fans love using their service to learn when their favorite bands will be in town. Why not use the same platform to put the control into the hands of the fans.

THE RESULTS

We recieved positive feedback from users as the usability test were conducted, leaving us with a product we expect to propose to Songkick in the near future.

 

RESEARCH

THE BUSINESS

We found it extremely important to familiarze ourselves with the music industry and businesses that are popular for music fans and musicians a like to frequent. We creative a competitive matrix to see where “Encore” could lay in a compettive field, and also to see where our proposed company aka Songkick landed in the business landscape.

THE COMPARISONS

We took the cometitive and comparitive companies and compared the features they had to educate ourselves on what is curren’ty being used and what isn’t being used in congruence with music platforms.

THE USER

After doing our business research we started to carve away at our target audience to ensure we were keeping the right features in mind and to understand what people out their really wanted and needed.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

- Interviewees used songkick and social media to follow their favorite artist.

- Found tickets in unconventional ways when sold out.

- Experienced FOMO when unable to amek it to a concert due to tickets selling out to quickly.

- Users will go out of their way to try and see their favorite bands.

EMPATHY MAP

After collecting data from our users we created “Empathy Maps” to help us see where the major paoin points were happening throughout our user’s process of getting tickets. This would later help influence our features.

 

DESIGN

THE DESIGN STUDIO

We came together as a team and did two rounds of Design Studio to both inspire and combine our ideas for the layout of the Encore App. 

THE FEATURES

Once we had features in mind we made MoSCoW Map and Feature PRioritization to guide us on what realistically and logisitically could be put into the app right now.

THE WIREFRAMES

Thus began the building of our Mid Fidelity Wireframes. 

THE TESTING

We went out and tested doing two rounds of testing which influenced our final design for the current prototype.

 

FINAL DESIGN
